Shah Rukh licks my feet: Aamir

Aamir Khan is at it again. After taking pot-shots at Big B and his film Black last year, this year it is Shah Rukh Khan’s turn to become his punching bag. A few months back, when Aamir was asked what he would like to ask King Khan, he replied, "I would like to ask Shah Rukh how it feels to be No. 2." While SRK took it in the right spirit, there certainly seems to be no love lost between the two superstars. The latest comes in Aamir's blog where he talks about Shah Rukh licking his feet. Before you think Aamir has lost it, the actor clarifies that he is referring to his dog, Shah Rukh, in his Panchgani home.In Aamir's own words: "Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for?”Now, before you jump to any conclusions, let me add that Shah Rukh is the name of our dog. And before you jump to any further conclusions let me add that I had nothing to do with naming him. In fact, Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house. When I bought this house it came with the caretakers and their dog! Apparently Shah Rukh [the actor] was shooting a commercial in this house a few years ago, and that very day the caretakers bought a pup… and named him Shah Rukh. What are the chances of me buying a house that comes with a dog called Shah Rukh!”Some of my friends claim that I bought the house just because of the dog. I would have to be a serious fan of Shah Rukh's to want to do that. Your guess…."Before he signs off, he takes one final dig at the Baadshah of Bollywood, saying, "Well, Shah Rukh is once again begging for my attention, so let me get back to him. He smells too much, I think he needs a bath. Heel boy, heel."We can't wait to read what King Khan has to say about Aamir talking about his dog, Shah Rukh, in his blog.

Ponting warns about ditching IPL salary cap

Ricky Ponting believes dumping the Indian Premier League's salary cap could be detrimental to the competition. Talk has begun about stopping the limit, which is currently at US$5million per team, but Ponting, who played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening stages of the event, said the move might make the tournament less competitive.
"I have certainly heard there may be no salary cap next year, but I'm not sure if that will be good for the IPL," Ponting said in the Australian. "The more I've thought about it, it might be detrimental to the whole set-up.
"We want good, competitive cricket with lots of international players playing good, close games against one another. If they go ahead with no salary cap, a lot of that might go out the window."
One window Ponting wants is for a break in Test and one-day internationals so the IPL can be held without interruptions. "I really do think they can manage it well and have the IPL as something that is going to help the game, and not just be extra money coming in for the international players," Ponting said. "What it has done already is attracted new audiences to the game and more audiences to the game ... Overall it should make cricket a better thing."
