Like father like son

The hot topic discussed now is breach of security by Rahul Gandhi. On 7th march he detoured into a naxal area without proper security personnel. The police had tried to stop him but could'nt. Many such incidents have been reported where he (Rahul) has crossed the barriers that were used to separate him from the public. May be its just a gimmick for publicity. But the price it may cost is his life. One cannot forget that the main reason for the assasination of Rajiv Gandhi was his lack of security concerns. Its better if Rahul be an exception to the proverb 'Like father like son'.

A healthy decision - But are we ready for it?

The chennai corporation has been striving hard to make the city a role model for others. It has built many flyovers, roads and has taken efforts to maintain the parks in a good condition. Adding to this, cleanliness is also given a high preference. Recently it has issued an order regarding this.

• A fine of Rs.50 would be imposed for spitting.




• A fine of Rs.100 would be imposed for dropping the garbage in roads.




• A fine of Rs.1000 would be imposed for failure of keeping the surroundings clean.

These rules would come into effect from April1,2008. This sounds nice but has the corporation taken all the steps to implement this rule? Has it provided proper and adequate toilets and garbage boxes?...
Corporation should think about this and make necessary actions to make the city clean and tidy.

Adambakkam - The island of south chennai

The title given above may sound quite peculiar. But u can understand the situation from the title itself. I have been here since my childhood for nearly 19 years. But our area still suffers the curse of lack of transportation facilities. The picture displayed shows the place by the name brindavan nagar. This place is where i can get a bus and is 1 km from my home. The railway station is 2kms from my area. On the otherside velachery bus terminus is also 3kms away.So ultimately people in our area cannot completely rely on public means of transportation. Only three buses (9M,51P,51R) come to brindavan nagar. These buses are not regularly scheduled. Most of the time people need to stand for a longwhile. Authorities concerned with this issue should take some necessary action so that people get benefitted.

Blocking the path

The honourable chief minister of Tamilnadu is now 86 years old. He has been elected to assembly several times and has been the chief minister of tamilnadu many times. Even though there are many other talented and young members in his party, he is not ready to give up his throne to the upcoming generation. Many people who have strived hard for the development of the party have gone unidentified even without a low level post in the party. He should rest himself and give chance to others. Moreover he is very keen in raising up his family members to various top notch positions. He is least cared about the true workers of the party.Lets expect a change in the future.
